There is no standard size for a shower door, but the most common size is 28" x 72"
Frameless shower doors require clearance to operate, so they will have small gaps at their perimeter. Spraying the water directly at these gaps will definitely cause water to escape the enclosure. To avoid this issue, aim the water to spray away from the door. Another option is adding clear vinyl extrusions; they can minimize leaks, but can detract from the appearance.
A shower sweep mounts on the bottom of swinging doors to minimize water splashing under the door.
Tempered glass is a safety glass regularly used in applications in which annealed glass could pose a threat if broken. Tempered is four times stronger than annealed and if broken shatters into very small pieces, unlike annealed, which breaks into large shards.
The glass is typically 1/4", 3/8", or 1/2" thick.
Frameless enclosures leave the edges of the glass exposed. Semi-frameless enclosures are a hybrid of Frameless and Framed, they leave some of the edges exposed, creating a nice blend of the two. Framed enclosures use an aluminum frame to capture all edges of the glass, leaving no glass edge exposed.
